Increasing attack intensity from Ukraine's Armed Forces in sth Zaporizhzhia will force Russian soldiers to despair, flee - Colonel Grant
Retired British Army Colonel and military expert Glen Grant believes that if Russian forces are attacked quickly, they will flee again, as they did in northern Ukraine or Kherson
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.
“If there is a proper breakthrough, a counteroffensive south of Zaporizhzhia, and the Russians start to flee, then I think we can continue to move towards Crimea and even go into the peninsula. The challenge is to be able to withstand the attack in terms of planning and ammunition, as well as the energy of those people who go forward. And that means it's important to have the right commander, because it's extremely difficult to keep moving forward when an army is under pressure. Therefore, in order to enter Crimea, you need to line up the right soldiers, as well as choose the right logistics and the right commander,” the military expert noted.
Glen Grant emphasized that Ukrainians cannot rely on chance, so everything must be planned and thought out.
“I am deeply convinced that when Ukrainian troops really set foot on Crimean land, everything in Crimea will collapse and the occupiers will flee. The faster we advance to Crimea, the faster they will flee. We saw it in the north, and it happened in Kherson as well. They fled, because they knew that if they stayed, they would be killed or captured. These people are still on the other side of the river, they are the same people, and believe me, their courage did not increase. If they are attacked quickly, they will flee again, perhaps even faster this time because they know what happened last time. So Crimea is a prize, and it is now in the hands of the Russians, but I hope that we will get enough weapons and equipment to be able to take back Crimea quickly, and not do it in small steps, losing a lot of Ukrainian blood. The faster and harder we strike south of Zaporizhzhia, the more desperately they will flee. There's no doubt about it,” Grant said.
