This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense.
Throughout September 2024, Russia launched more than 1,300 attack drones over Ukraine, marking the highest monthly total since the invasion began.
Based on current data, Russia is almost certain to surpass this number in October 2024, the report stated.
Russia is likely increasing its capacity for large-scale drone strikes on Ukraine, boosting Iranian-supplied drones with increased domestic production.
According to intelligence, Russia is targeting various sites, including energy infrastructure, with these UAVs, aiming to pressure Ukraine’s air defenses by striking deep into its territory.
- On the night of October 23, Russian forces launched 81 drones over Ukraine. Air defense units intercepted and destroyed 57 Shahed drones.
