Illegal migrants from Belarus attack Polish border guards, more than 10 of them detained
A Polish border guard patrol was pelted with stones by migrants breaking through from Belarus on Thursday, resulting in the detention of almost a dozen of illegal migrants
The Polish Border Guard Headquarters announced this on Friday, January 27.
They claim that on January 26, 46 foreigners tried to illegally enter Poland. The border patrol, which intervened in one of the incidents, was pelted with stones.
“In the area of official responsibility of the Border Guard Post in Czeremcha, the officers revealed a group of 15 foreigners who had illegally crossed the Polish-Belarusian border shortly before. The patrol that arrived at the scene was pelted with stones,” the statement said.
No one was injured in the incident, but one of the border guards' vehicles was damaged.
Among the detainees are two Turkish citizens whose task was to take a group of migrants across the border, hand them over to specially designated people ("couriers") and return to the Belarusian side of the border.

This is not the first such case. In early January last year, dozens of migrants armed with stones and sticks tried to get to Poland from Belarus.
