AFU do not see any threats: movement of equipment or soldiers has not been recorded on Belarusian border
At the border with Belarus, the situation currently remains under control: no movements of equipment or Russian personnel have been recorded
Spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko stated this live on air of national united TV marathon.
"Situation on the border with Belarus remains controlled and stable. We do not see any threats that are currently near the border," he said.
Spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine noted that the movement of military equipment near the border of Ukraine has not been recorded so far. Also, the movement of personnel and units of Russia or Belarus, which would carry out any demonstration actions, was not noticed.
According to Demchenko, units of Belarus continue to strengthen the border with Ukraine. They justify it with the alleged "threat from Ukraine", and not the other way around.
"In addition, there is currently no necessary strike group on the territory of Belarus that could conduct a repeated invasion of Ukraine," the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine emphasized.
He added that there are slightly more than 10,000 soldiers from the units of the Russian army in Belarus who are involved in military exercises. However, he does not rule out that some of them may be transferred to the east of Ukraine.
"It is possible that a part of them will be transferred to the east of Ukraine to replenish units of the Russian Federation. Instead, a number of Russians may enter the territory of the Republic of Belarus to continue their training," Demchenko suggested.
He emphasized that despite everything, Russian troops should not be underestimated, because they can use direction from Belarus at any moment. Also, the Russian army may continue to build up strength for a full-scale invasion.
