Activist of European solidarity political party Andriy Zhydkov dies at frontline
Andriy Zhydkov, an activist of the European Solidarity party, scholar, candidate of technical sciences, Luhansk region native, killed at the frontline
Iryna Herashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, announced this on Facebook.
"Another very heavy loss for our team. Our colleague and friend from Luhansk region, Andriy Zhydkov, died fighting for Ukraine. He always had strong pro-Ukrainian views. In peaceful life, Andriy was a scholar, he was active in civic engagement and had the courage to defend his beliefs," wrote Herashchenko.
"Dozens of times Maria Ionova, Andriy and I visited the front-line territories, crossed paths at hundreds of events, visited Stanytsia and Svatove, Lysychansk, planted trees in Severodonetsk and helped the local orphanage. He loved his native land infinitely," Herashchenko recalls.
"After the beginning of a full-scale invasion, Andriy joined the army. He sincerely believed in the European future of Ukraine and fought for the liberation of the Luhansk region. His death hurts us greatly... Eternal memory, our dear colleague!" she continued.
European Solidarity expresses its sincere condolences to the family of Andriy Zhydkov.
