When Russia leaves Crimea, it will destroy everything - BlackSeaNews editor-in-chief Klymenko
Andriy Klymenko, project manager at the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies, believes that the Russian forces will destroy everything they cannot take out of Crimea when they leave
He said this on Espreso TV.
“Four years ago, at one of the seminars on Crimea, I said that we should not think about how we will decolonize Crimea or how we will develop it after liberation. We need to understand the following: when Russia leaves Crimea, it will destroy everything it can. That is, they will set fire to forests, dump water reservoirs, blow up dams, disrupt all life support systems, power plants - everything they cannot take out,” said the project manager at the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies.
Andriy Klymenko noted that a similar experience had already taken place when the Black Sea Fleet was divided. Some garrisons were given to the Ukrainian Navy, and where it was possible to remove something and take it away, the Russians took everything. And what could not be taken could be destroyed with a sledgehammer or set on fire.
“So we will have a situation in which the efforts of the Emergency Service are needed, because we will have to eliminate fires, restore water and energy supply. Unfortunately, all this will be very sad. I have no doubt that the occupiers will do this,” Klymenko said.
