We should thank Ukrainians for protecting Europe - Moldova’s Prime Minister
Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean says the missiles in the country's airspace and their possible downing are the fault of Russia, and Ukraine is defending not only itself but the whole of Europe
The prime minister's statement was reported by the Moldovan media outlet Point.md.
When asked by a journalist about the progress of the investigation into the downing of missiles in Moldova and their ownership, Dorin Recean could not give a clear answer, but provided a refutation of the Moldovan Defense Ministry's rumors about the downing of new missiles.
"These missiles are falling here because of the war and Russia's aggression in Ukraine. We should thank Ukraine and Ukrainians for defending their homeland, for protecting us and the whole of Europe," Dorin Recean said.
At the same time, according to the prime minister, Moldova needs to strengthen its air defense capabilities.
"We need to strengthen our air defense capabilities. Today, the Ministry of Defense stated that there were no flights over our territory, but this does not mean that we do not need to prepare for risks. Today, the Republic of Moldova is facing challenges, and we will continue to ensure peace and tranquility," he said.
