Ukrainian missiles damage bridges in Chonhar, Henichesk
On August 6, 2023, the Ukrainian Defense Forces damaged the Chonhar bridge and the bridge across the Tonka Strait connecting the city of Henichesk to the Arabat Spit
Both bridges connect mainland Ukraine with the Crimean peninsula. The strikes were reported by the heads of the local occupation administrations, Sergey Aksyonov, Vladimir Saldo and Vladimir Rogov.
"A missile attack was launched in the area of the Chongar bridge in the north of Crimea. There was one hit, some of the missiles were shot down by the Air Defense Forces. There is damage to the roadway of the road bridge, repair work is already underway. There are no casualties," Aksyonov noted.
"Temporarily, passage is carried out through the checkpoints of Armyansk and Perekop," added the Kremlin-appointed "head of the Republic of Crimea."
According to Saldo, the Ukrainians "fired at the bridge across the Tonka Strait connecting the city of Henichesk with Arabat Spit."

"A total of 12 missiles were fired, 9 were shot down by our air defense," said the leader of the collaborators in the Russian-held left-bank part of the Kherson region.
"One civilian was wounded, who was passing over the bridge at the time of the hit," Saldo said.
According to Saldo, the strike in Henichesk allegedly caused complications with gas supplies.
"The gas pipeline from the Strilkivske field to Henichesk, which runs next to the bridge, was also cut off. More than 20,000 residents of the city were left without gas supply," he said.
Saldo confirms the attack on the Chongar bridge. In his opinion, it was carried out by "NATO Storm Shadow missiles."
"The bridge was damaged by a missile," said Saldo.
"Transportation links with Crimea continue to operate through Chaplinka and Armyansk," he summarized.
