Ukrainian fag that left Azovstal with last fighter on display in Museum of Ukrainian History in WWII
The Ukrainian flag, which Ukrainian defenders from Azovstal saved, has been transferred to the Museum of Ukrainian History in WWII. It is on display as part of the 'Ukraine - Crucifixion' exhibition.
The Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate shares the news.
The evacuated wounded defenders of Mariupol and the wife of the Heroes of Azovstal came to pay tribute to the symbol of insubordination.
"In order to preserve the memory of the deeds of those heroes who gave their lives and health for our Motherland. This is truly a significant event for all of us," said the wounded defender 'Molfar', who was evacuated from Azovstal.
Denys Prokopenko's wife, Kateryna, thanked all the defenders and units who defended Mariupol to the end: "Our task now is to make every effort to return home as soon as possible. So that these soldiers can continue to build our country. Protect and develop it."
"This flag is a symbol of valor and heroism of all those who were on Azovstal. They are representatives of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, the National Police, the Azov Regiment, border guards, ordinary people, doctors, and our workers. This flag should be a symbol of revival. After a certain period of time, it would be very good for this flag to visit Mariupol again when it is liberated. The flag was raised at the same place where our fighters filmed it," said Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, who delivered the flag to the museum.
The flag became one of the main exhibits of the 'Ukraine - Crucifixion' exhibition at the Museum of Ukrainian History in WWII.
