Ukraine’s Bohdana self-propelled gun with NATO-standard calibre: advantages unveiled
Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Oleksii Reznikov commented on the prospects of the Ukrainian-made self-propelled artillery system Bohdana
Reznikov stated this during a conversation with journalists, including Espreso TV.
"We have plans that the company that manufactures the Ukrainian self-propelled artillery system Bohdana (with 155mm calibre, NATO standard) will continue to implement the contract concluded with us for the whole year. We have positive prospects to have our own Ukrainian "gun" or howitzer to arm the Ukrainian military," Reznikov said.
Will the Bohdana self-propelled artillery system become the mainstay of Ukraine’s Armed Forces?
"Let's see how it will be tested on the battlefield. We have nine 155 mm systems. We are the second country in the world to have this many Caesars, after France. We can probably be on a par with friendly Poland in terms of AHS Krab. But I repeat: we must have our own Ukrainian weapons. This is a guarantee that we will be a powerful eastern shield not only for NATO and Europe, but also for the entire civilised world," said Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov.
Reference: Bohdana is a joint development of the Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant and Ukrainian Armour, the first Ukrainian weapon system of NATO standard.
Bohdana: what is known?
In early July, Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov published a photo of a Bohdana self-propelled gun system that was deployed to the frontline.
Earlier, the Bohdana self-propelled artillery system was mentioned during the de-occupation of Snake Island.
