Ukraine to soon receive anti-aircraft weapons, missiles for air defense systems from UK
In the coming weeks, Ukraine will receive a new military aid package from the UK, including anti-aircraft weapons and missiles for air defense systems
This was reported by the office of the UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who had a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy this afternoon.
The UK Prime Minister said that more anti-aircraft weapons and short-range air defense missiles will arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks.
In addition, during the conversation, the leaders of the countries discussed the new wave of Russian attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the UK for its support in restoring electricity through the supply of generators.
Prime Minister Sunak paid tribute to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' success in intercepting dozens of Russian missiles this week.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of pre-empting Russia’s insincere calls for a ceasefire, and Sunak added that the Kremlin needed to withdraw its troops from Ukraine before any truce could be considered.
