Ukraine manages to resist Putin's 'super weapon' - British Intelligence
Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down Russian Kinzhal ballistic missiles, which Russian President Vladimir Putin considered his 'super weapon'
This is stated in a report by the UK Ministry of Defence.
It is noted that on December 14, the Russians used the Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missile for the first time since August 2023. Russia launched at least one missile in central Ukraine, probably targeting a military airfield.
British intelligence adds that the Kinzhal missile, one of six "superweapons" announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018, is likely to play an important role in Russia's future military doctrine. In the war against Ukraine, Russia has reserved these weapons for what it considers high-value and well-protected targets.
"KILLJOY has almost certainly had a mixed combat debut. Many of its launches have likely missed their intended targets, while Ukraine has also succeeded in intercepting attacks by this supposedly 'undefeatable' system," the British Intelligence emphasizes.
- In the afternoon of December 14, Russia fired Kh-47 Kinzhal missiles toward Khmelnytskyi region. Explosions were heard there and in Kyiv. There were no casualties.
