Ukraine does the impossible on battlefield, but needs more weapons - Danilov

Ukraine’s NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov made the statement.

"In the course of active hostilities, the Ukrainian army is doing the impossible, breaking all the established theories and practices of modern warfare. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are successfully performing offensive and counter-offensive tasks in conditions of equality or even a numerical minority of the forces and means involved. They accomplish tasks without air superiority. This is an unprecedented case," he emphasized.

According to him, no other NATO army has such experience.

"At the same time, Ukraine's priority is the lives of our soldiers. In this regard, we have incomparably lower losses even in the face of offensive and counter-offensive than the Russians," Danilov noted.

"But the miracle of Ukrainian resilience requires a constant and much larger supply of weapons," he added, emphasizing that the president and the government are working to resolve this issue.

• In June, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported that Ukraine was seizing the initiative on the battlefield, but needed weapons with a range of up to 200 kilometers.
