This was announced by Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
"I can announce that we have recently committed to the acquisition of two specialist ships capable of ensuring the safety of our cables and pipelines," he told the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham.
Wallace's statement was made after it became known about the damage in the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
Earlier, Danish authorities said Sunday that the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline had stopped leaking, a day after officials said Nord Stream 2 had also stopped leaking gas.
