UK has strong monarch today - diplomat Kharchenko

He shared his opinion with Espreso TV. 

"I think that the UK has a very strong monarch today, who is well versed in the world situation. He is indeed the head of state, although he does not rule it. Do not have any doubts, because the members of the royal family are very well informed and understand all world affairs, because it is a royal tradition," the diplomat explained.

Ihor Kharchenko recalled that at one time, before presenting the Queen with credentials, he was briefed in accordance with the protocol, then he drew attention to the fact that members of the royal family, and especially the Queen, do not communicate on political topics.

"But at the meeting, Her Majesty accurately described the situation that was happening in our political environment in Ukraine with a phrase, after which I was completely shocked and asked how she knew this. Then I learned from my colleagues that the Queen is briefed daily on all issues, which the UK considers important for national interests. That is why the members of the UK royal family are extremely well-informed people who know how to very competently and beautifully convey information to whom and when it is necessary, but they do not do it because there is such a royal tradition," the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine noted.
