The UK formally proclaims Charles III the King of Great Britain
Charles III has become the new king of Great Britain. The eldest son of Elizabeth II automatically inherited the throne after her death.

The Council of Succession has officially announced Charles III as the new King of the United Kingdom.
The corresponding proclamation was signed in order of priority by the next heir to the throne, Prince William, Queen Consort Camilla, the Chairman of the Council, British Prime Minister Liz Truss and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
He renewed his promise to serve his people all his life, just like his mother. He swore "to support the constitutional principles that are the basis of the state throughout the time allotted by God."
He ended the speech with a personal appeal to "dear mother".
"You are embarking on this last great journey to be reunited with my beloved late dad and I just want to say thank you. Thank you for your love and devotion to our family and the family of nations that you have served so faithfully all these years. - Charles III said.
73-year-old Charles became the oldest monarch at the time of the beginning of the reign in the history of Great Britain. The coronation of the monarch will take place later.
