Sunak calls Russia "rogue state" and proposes plan for its economic isolation
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called Russia a "rogue state" and proposed a 5-point plan to reduce its influence on the world economy.
The Telegraph reports.
He believes that countries need to continue to reduce dependence on Russian energy sources and produce more food.
Sunak's plan consists of five points:
Continuation of support to those who need it most in winter. The Prime Minister noted that Great Britain continues to help Ukraine, its citizens in terms of electricity bills, and also takes measures to prevent hunger in the world.
Countries can produce more food and release stocks. Sunak accused Russia of using food as a weapon and supported UN efforts to extend grain agreement.
Ensuring security of supply chains and quickly moving away from energy dependence on countries such as Russia.
Remain committed to promoting free markets and an open global economy.
Identify those who use their opportunities to create credit traps for developing countries (a policy in which a creditor country increases its influence by increasing debt to a borrower country), and also address causes of rising inflation.
Earlier, Rishi Sunak promised at G20 summit to challenge Vladimir Putin's regime.
