Storm Shadow with decoy missiles fulfill task of destroying targets in Luhansk - military expert Svitan
Roman Svitan, a military expert, colonel with the Ukrainian Armed Forces in reserve, military pilot-instructor, noted that ADM-160 missiles pave the route and cover Storm Shadow combat strike missiles from enemy air defense
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Luhansk was about 120-150 kilometers from the front line. Our long-range systems did not reach the city, so Russians turned Luhansk into a military hub, bringing weapons, equipment, repair shops, and many barracks with personnel there. As soon as we received the long-range Storm Shadow missiles, we immediately used them. In addition, the practice in Luhansk was a classic one, accompanied by ADM-160 missiles. Russians confirmed this by showing the remains of an ADM-160. This missile lays a route and covers Storm Shadow combat strike missiles from enemy air defense," noted the military expert.
Roman Svitan explained that the ADM-160 missile is a deception, an electronic warfare missile, meaning that during the passage of the Storm Shadow, the ADM-160 missile illuminates the enemy's locators.
"Before the target, the Storm Shadow missile goes downhill from an extremely low altitude, 40-50 meters, turning on the infrared homing head, which is no longer affected by any electronic warfare system, and hits the target accurately. An ADM-160 missile is used to cover this maneuver. There were several attacks with such missiles on enemy military targets in Luhansk, as well as in Mariupol, Berdiansk and Melitopol. We used at least a dozen missiles of excellent quality, and each strike hit its target. It has been confirmed that the circular deviation was several meters, so the strike was accurate," commented Svitan.
