Soldier with 72nd Brigade evacuates almost 50 wounded comrades from battlefield
Oleksandr Drabynko fights with the invading Russian forces as part of the 72nd Detached Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians. He evacuates wounded comrades from the battlefield.
The commander of the detached machine gun platoon, Nazarii Kishak, told about his service at the front, Espreso.West reports.
Oleksandr Drabynko received the nickname Moriachok (Seaman) for his sailor past. According to Kishak, a military man is a positive and optimistic person who will always find the right word and support in any situation.
"Moriachok is a jack of all trades. He will fix the technical malfunctions of the car and make additional mounts for weapons, and he drives like God as well," the platoon commander noted.
Oleksandr Drabynko evaluated about 50 wounded soldiers at one of the combat deployment sites. Most of them have already returned to the front to defend Ukraine.
"Being a driver in a war zone is much more dangerous than holding positions in the trenches. After all, you need to rely only on yourself, calculate the most suitable hour, choose a route, and know which section to drive as quickly as possible. This is more difficult than physics, because at stake - not only your life, but also that of your colleagues," Kishak said.
During one of the trips to the wounded military wreckage, the tire on which the soldier was riding punctured. The man stopped to change it. Another projectile fell nearby and a fragment from it hit Oleksandr in the head. Fortunately, writes Nazarii Kishak, the fighter was wearing a helmet and was unharmed.
"Such situations do not happen by chance. God saved Oleksandr, and on the same day he evacuated seriously wounded soldiers from the battlefield," the commander added.
