Situation in Azovstal is catastrophic, only country that can help is Turkey - Azov Regiment leader
One of Azov Regiment leaders, George Kuparashvili, is convinced that the military at Azovstal has fulfilled all the necessary tasks, so now soldiers need to be evacuated.
He urged Azov soldiers' evacuation on Espreso.
Kuparashvili said soldiers are doing everything possible and impossible, but they have limited resources.
"Our guys are holding Azovstal, but human resources have their limits. Therefore, there is a catastrophe," he said.
One of Azov Regiment leaders said that one single regiment discredited the 'great imperial Russian army.'
"Putin wanted to seize Azovstal and all military garrisons in Mariupol by May 9. He failed, and that for him it wasn't just a slap in the face and blow in the teeth. Russia is now in the wild, they won't just let Azov go," he said.
It doesn't make sense to trust Russia to hold a land corridor, the evacuation through sea is the only possible option to save soldiers and civilians.
"Ukraine already has an example of Ilovaisk and Debaltsevo. If we trust Russia for evacuation through a land corridor, we get the same sacrifices as these cities. So evacuation is possible only through the sea," he added.
