Seven Belarusian battalions deploy to Ukrainian border - Ukrainian intelligence
There are seven battalions of Belarusian armed forces deployed along the country's border with Ukraine, the threat of Belarusian invasion of Ukraine from a military point of view remains.
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Vadym Skibitsky, shared the update.
"Today, there is no direct threat from Belarus, because no grouping of troops has been created, and the management system of this grouping has not been deployed. This is the main element of the immediate preparation for hostilities," Vadym Skibitsky explained.
At the same time, the presence of seven battalions of the Belarusian armed forces near the border prompts the Ukrainian command to attract additional deterrent forces and strengthen intelligence.
"This diverts resources and means from our eastern front. In addition, the constant movement of troops is aimed at keeping us under tension. Individual elements, tactical episodes of possible offensive actions from the territory of Belarus are being worked out," said a Main Intelligence Directorate representative.
