Russia’s MFA threatens "enormous risks" if West supplies F-16s to Ukraine

This was reported by the Russian media.  

According to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, if Ukraine receives Western fighter jets, Russia will respond with appropriate actions.  

"The so-called escalation ladder is moving. And we see that Western countries are still following the escalation scenario. It involves enormous risks for them. In any case, this will be taken into account in all our plans, and we have all the necessary means to achieve our goal," Grushko said.

• On 19 May, US President Joe Biden said that the United States was not against training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.

• It also became known that the United States and allies plan to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets as part of long-term efforts to strengthen the country's security.

• On 20 May, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that Ukraine had not yet received F-16s, as other types of weapons would play a crucial role in the counteroffensive.
