The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on August 21.
The soldiers of this unit systematically check local residents for documents, confirming the right to live in their own houses.
"If they find out that there are no documents for registration of the right of residence, they take away all property and housing under the guise of "confiscation" and physically abuse disgruntled local residents," the statement says.
Ukrainian missile forces and artillery destroyed 4 Russian control points in one day
Missile and artillery units also hit the Russian forces' military positions and 3 artillery pieces which were located at enemy firing positions.
In turn, the Defense Forces' aviation launched 6 strikes on the Russian weapons concentration areas.
Russian forces launched over 30 airstrikes against Ukraine
During the day, Russia launched 2 missile attacks and about 35 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, as well as damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.
In total, more than 20 combat engagements took place over the day.
Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected.
At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked.
Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions
In the Kupyansk direction, 4 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling.
In the Lyman direction, 15 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire.
In the Bakhmut direction, over 20 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces.
In the Avdiivka direction, more than 6 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked.
In the Maryinka direction, over 6 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, about 6 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled.
In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 50 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army.
At the same time, the Ukrainian army continues its offensive in the Melitopol sector, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.
According to the local underground, military units from different parts of Russia are arriving at the border with Ukraine to take exams, namely shelling civilians in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.- News
