Russians withdraw from their positions near Avdiivka – General Staff
Ukrainian forces knocked out the Russians from their positions near Avdiivka, Donetsk region. AFU continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions
Pavlo Kovalchuk, spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this at the Military Media Center.
“During the offensive assault operations by the Defense Forces, the enemy had to move back from their positions in the area south of Avdiivka,” he said.
The Ukrainian military is still deterring the advancement of the Russian invaders in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces are carrying out offensive actions south of the city of Bakhmut.
“The enemy tried but failed to regain their lost positions north and west of Klishchiivka, as well as northwest of Kurdyumivka,” as reported by the spokesman.

On June 26, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar also said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had de-occupied the village of Rivnopil, Donetsk region. It is located in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. The Russian army occupied the village in March 2022.

On July 26, the General Staff reported that the Defense Forces continued to advance in three directions. Instead, the Russian occupiers are trying to regain the lost position near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar said that the Defense Forces continue to successfully conduct offensive actions on the southern flank around Bakhmut. Fierce fighting continues in the area of Klishchiiivka, Kurdyumivka and Andriivka.
