Ukrainian army conduct successful offensive on Bakhmut’s southern flank – Defence Ministry
Defence forces continue to successfully conduct offensive operations on the southern flank around Bakhmut. Fierce fighting continues near the settlements of Klishchiyivka, Kurdyumivka, Andriivka
This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Maliar on July 26.
"In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops continue to successfully conduct offensive actions on the southern flank around the town of Bakhmut. Fierce fighting continues near the settlements of Klishchiyivka, Kurdyumivka, Andriivka," the statement said.
It is noted that the Ukrainian military continues to hold back the offensive of Russian troops in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions.
According to Maliar, the invading Russian army is looking for weaknesses in Ukrainian defences, conducting artillery shelling, attacking with infantry groups and using special forces. In other words, they are trying to push the Ukrainian defence with all their might, but to no avail.
According to Maliar, the Ukrainian military is taking all measures to stop the Russian forces.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Defence Forces drove the Russian forces out of their positions near Andriivka, and in the Staromaiorske direction, Ukrainian forces were successful and are consolidating their positions.

On July 25, the Ukrainian Armed Forces held back the Russian offensive near Marinka and repelled Russian attacks in other areas.

Defence forces continue to advance in three directions. Instead, the occupying Russian forces are trying to regain their lost position near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.
