Russians prepare for May 9 'holiday' in Mariupol: restore Soviet monuments, clean rubble, force residents to pull out bodies of dead from under the ruins
Russian military restore Soviet monuments, dismantle destroyed houses and get out bodies of the dead in Mariupol.
Mariupol Mayor Adviser Petro Andryushchenko reported on Russian 'preparations'.
Despite the public rejection of the parade in Mariupol, Russians prepare for it on May 9.
"Yesterday they were giving people George Ribbons. Russians 'put in order' all Soviet monuments: the so-called fists with eternal fire, signs 'To the victims of fascism' in Russian, monument 'To Komsomols and Communists' in Prymorsky area. The sacred places for the Sabbath victory are ready. All this looks like a cynical holiday on the bones on the background of the destroyed city and hungry people," he wrote.
Mariupol residents dismantle ruined homes and pull out bodies of the dead from under the rubble.
"Heavy Russian machinery which dismantled the rubble moved from ave. Myru to ave. Metalurgiv. Mariupol residents get bodies of the dead from under the ruins with their hands. Russians pay them with food," said Petro Andryushchenko.
