Russia strikes at Derhachi, Kharkiv region, injuring 8 children
On the afternoon of May 2, the occupying Russian army attacked the town of Derhachi, Kharkiv region, with glide bombs injuring nine people, including eight children
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported the information.
“The number of injured children has increased to 8: one of the boys has an acute stress reaction, the other has light injuries,” he wrote.
The police of the Kharkiv region clarified that the Russian forces had hit the sports club where the children were training.
“Investigators have opened criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the statement said.
At about 5 p.m. Syniehubov reported about six injured children.
"As of now, seven people have been injured in enemy strikes on Derhachi, six of them are kids," he wrote.
According to the official, two children sustained light injuries to their limbs, and four were moderately injured. All the victims were hospitalized.
A 75-year-old man was treated on the spot.
Earlier in the day, Syniehubov reported four injured children.
"The Russian occupiers attacked civilian infrastructure in Derhachi, Kharkiv district. Preliminary, four children were injured," he wrote.
The official noted that the inspection by the relevant services and the elimination of the consequences are ongoing.
He also urged people not to leave the shelters until the air raid alert is cancelled, as there may be repeated attacks with guided aerial bombs.

On April 26, the Russian army also attacked the town of Derhachi, Kharkiv district. They hit a residential building, injuring four people, including three children.
