Russian troops in Belarus may try to take Rivne NPP under fire control
Taras Chmut, military expert and head of Come Back Alive foundation, believes that Russian invading forces can use Russian group in Belarus in the Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr directions
He shared his opinion during the interview with Orestocracy project, Espreso reports.
Chmut suggests that Russian forces may try to take Rivne NPP under fire control.
"Obviously, there (in Belarus. - Ed.) are not enough forces and means to capture Kyiv, but it can be a withdrawal of main defense forces to a certain line. It can also be an attempt to capture Rivne NPP or at least keep it under fire control. This is a complication of logistics and a complication of life in general, and this is economy of the country. These can be wedges of 10-50 km in the Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr or Kyiv directions," the expert said.
According to him, the offensive from Belarus can start at any moment, so it is worth preparing for different scenarios.
"We don't know how much, but Belarusians are mobilizing, they are being diluted by Russian troops, and so far everything is going to the point where it is possible. We haven't won the war yet, it's not over yet, let's assume the worst possible scenarios. Maybe Ukraine will explain to Belarusians, which is not a good thing to do, and they will find a way not to join this war. Perhaps the West will support us additionally in this desire. Everything here changes every day. Conditions will be completely different in a week", Chmut added.
