Russian forces develop military fortifications near planned microdistrict construction site in Mariupol - mayoral adviser
In the temporarily Russian-occupied Mariupol, invading Russian forces are actively carrying out fortification works in the direction of the Mangush settlement
This was reported on Telegram by Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol.
"Mariupol. Together with the residential quarter of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the direction of Mangush, the active construction of fortifications has begun", Andryushchenko wrote.
At the same time, the mayor's adviser noted that military fortifications are being built near the place where the Russian occupation authorities promised to build a microdistrict.
"As we said, relying on our sources - (the fortifications are being built - Ed.) 300-400 meters from the fence of the "new microdistrict". This area of development is absent from all the advertised plans for the "restoration of Mariupol", but it is there in real life. A human shield - a typical tactic of the Russian occupiers", Andryushchenko said.
The mayor's advisor emphasized that there is no shelter for civilians in the "microdistrict" annexed by the Russian occupiers.
"People of Mariupol, pay attention, especially those who will move into new houses. There is no basement or bomb shelter within walking distance. However, the crushed Mariupol is in the window on one side, the protective structures of the Russian army due to the landing - on the other. A controversial neighborhood", Andryushchenko concluded.
