Russian forces build three new defense lines in Zaporizhzhia region – Melitopol Mayor Fedorov
Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov says that the invading Russian forces have begun construction of three new defense lines in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region
He said this on Espreso TV.
“The occupying troops have started building three new defense lines in the temporarily occupied territory Zaporizhzhia region. The first defense line is on the border of the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. Everything is as usual, the occupiers are digging trenches and setting up anti-tank barriers. They started building the second line of defense between the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. The third line of defense is being built by the occupiers between the villages of Myrne and Terpinnia, which are 10 kilometers from the city of Melitopol,” Fedorov said.
The mayor of Melitopol emphasized that the Russian troops do not have the capabilities and resources to re-attack.
“The construction of new defense lines by the occupying forces indicates that they have no capabilities for any offensive. They are preparing to defend the temporarily occupied Melitopol. However, I am convinced that our Armed Forces will be able to liberate Melitopol. Now the invaders in the temporarily occupied territories are only growing in panic amid the news of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive,” he added.
