Ukraine's Navy reveals number of airfields currently used by Russia in Crimea
Currently, Russian forces operate five military airfields in the temporarily occupied Crimea. However, activity at two of these airfields has been significantly reduced due to damage
This information was provided by Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesperson for Ukraine's Naval Forces, during a broadcast on the national United News telethon.
"Russia continues to use airfields in occupied Crimea as intended. At least five airfields are currently in use," Pletenchuk stated.
He noted that two of these airfields have seen a sharp decrease in activity since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, as "those units were lost."
"In reality, the operations at two of the five airfields have been cut to a minimum. While there are more airfields that could be utilized in Crimea, these are the ones currently in use," Pletenchuk emphasized.
According to him, Russian forces sometimes choose not to redeploy their aircraft to mainland Russia for tactical reasons, opting instead to continue using Crimean airfields.
