Russia turns Mariupol into military logistics hub
Russian troops are preparing to defend their positions in Mariupol - at the same time, military bases and warehouses have started being set up in the city, which is being transformed into powerful military logistics hub
Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, stated live on air of Espreso TV channel.
"First of all, they prepare for Mariupol defense. They fortify the city along almost entire perimeter, except for the part that leads towards Russia. There they place "Dragon's Teeth", mines, and now they set up military bases. They are going to use Mariupol and surrounding area to place some units here in rear for regrouping, replenishment, and rest", he noted.
According to Andryushchenko, entire coast of the city is occupied by Russian occupying forces withdrawn from Kherson.
"New units are being formed there, which will then move in two directions - the north of Donetsk region and Pologa/Gulyaipole. Military bases and warehouses have begun to be set up in the city. It is being transformed into powerful military logistics hub. This is connected with partial destruction of Crimean bridge. The only available logistical artery for them, as of now, is route from Rostov to Mariupol", the mayor's adviser concluded.
