Russia positions troops in 10 Belarusian settlements - Ukraine’s defense ministry
Russian troops are currently positioned in about ten settlements in Belarus
Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, spokesperson for Ukraine's Defense Ministry revealed this information during the live telethon, NV reports.
"I will say one thing about the Russian troops: they are there. I will not tell you the exact number of them, but Russian units are deployed in Belarus. Russian military forces are in about ten settlements. In addition, there is information about Iskander operational-tactical missile systems, which are also deployed in Belarus," he said.
Motuzyanyk said that the Belarusian military has been covering the border with Ukraine for several weeks, but those actions were demonstrative.
"Ukraine’s potential attack on Belarus’ territories sounds much more ridiculous than a possible attack on Russia’s territories. It is more a demonstrative move, in particular, by Russian army units. And the main purpose is to draw our units back and not let them spread,” the spokesman said in conclusion.
