Reznikov, top Bundeswehr official discuss creation of 'maritime coalition', training programs for AFU
Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov has met with Bundeswehr Inspector General Carsten Breuer to discuss the creation of a 'maritime coalition'
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service reported this on May 5.
Reznikov informed the guest about the experience of fighting enemy UAVs and invited the German side to cooperate in this area. He also called on Germany to join the creation of a so-called 'maritime coalition.'
“We already have a 'tank coalition' and Ramstein is also a coalition. They all work for a single goal - the victory of Ukraine. Our common task is to build a strong system of international security architecture, and the safety of navigation in the Black and Azov Seas is an important element in this system. Some of our European partners are already part of this coalition. And I would very much like Germany to become a part of it as well,” the Ukrainian minister emphasized.
The parties discussed how else Germany could strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities. In particular, they discussed the possibility of expanding training programs for the Ukrainian military in Germany.

In late April, Reznikov said that the Ukrainian army was finalizing preparations for a counteroffensive.
