Putin will use Lukashenko and "Yanukovych's body" to recreate a "USSR 2.0" - Mykhailo Prytula
Putin wants to use Belarus to denounce the Bialowieza Agreements and reincarnate the Soviet Union
SBU reserve colonel and military expert Mykhailo Prytula stated this on Espreso TV.
"The threat from Belarus is actually a little different from how it is imagined. The threat from Belarus is not that it will necessarily go to war against Ukraine now - most likely, it will not happen. But Belarus will be used in a completely different direction. We must prepare for the fact that Putin will try to do what happened exactly 103 years ago. For this, he needs both Lukashenko and Yanukovych's body, which he has been "taking care of" for more than 8 years," - he said.
Prytula believes that, having occupied part of Ukraine, Putin will try to declare the restoration of the USSR.
"What will happen next - he will try to seize the Donetsk region, say that "this is the real Ukraine", declare Donetsk the capital of Ukraine (as they once did with Kharkiv), and call Yanukovych the eternally legitimate president of Ukraine. And then they will gather in Bialowieza Pushcha, where they will denounce the Bialowieza Agreements of 1991 and announce the restoration of the "USSR 2.0". For this, Putin needs both Belarus and Yanukovych's body. This is roughly their plan," - Prytula suggests.
The military expert believes that, no matter how strange the political resuscitation of Yanukovych may seem to Ukrainians, it is quite real. After all, Belarus is also actually an occupied country, and the legitimacy of its president today is almost same as the legitimacy of the "presidents of the DPR and LPR".
