Putin creates Russian military bases in Belarus - Belarusian Radio Liberty journalist Kalinovsky
Valery Kalinovsky, a Belarusian Radio Liberty journalist, has said that Lukashenko is fulfilling all Putin's whims.
He expressed his opinion with Espreso.
"Belarus is well aware that this is a dangerous escalation of the conflict in which Putin wants to involve Lukashenko and Belarus. Lukashenko is fulfilling all Putin's whims, only refraining from involving the Belarusian military in attacks on Ukraine. Russia has handed over additional weapons to Belarus, but the weapons will not belong to Belarus. This is to fix and normalize Russian bases. Putin wants it to look like Belarus. In fact, they will be served and used by Russian troops," Kalinovsky explained.
The journalist also added that nuclear weapons are a terrible prospect.
"In the hands of Putin, Lukashenko is playing the role assigned to him by the Kremlin. The threat of nuclear weapons is raising rates to intimidate the West, Ukraine and Lithuania. Without Belarus, Russia will not be able to do anything against Poland and Lithuania," Kalinovsky said.
