Mariupol defenders neutralize 6,000 Russians and 100 Russian armored vehicles - Azov Regiment Deputy Commander Palamar
Kalyna (Palamar) said that the invading Russian forces outnumber Ukrainian soldiers in infantry and weapons, but Mariupol defenders will fight as long as possible.
Kyiv Security Forum reported this on their website, with reference to the statement of the Azov Regiment Deputy Commander, Captain Svyatoslav Palamar (Kalyna).
"Our garrison managed to neutralize about 6,000 Russian units, including one general. That's about 78 tanks and 100 armored vehicles. This is confirmed. Obviously, there is a lot of unconfirmed data we won't rely on," Palamar said.
Russians outnumbered Ukrainian defenders only in weapons and infantry.
"This group numbered about 14,000 servicemen. It's a huge amount of equipment, planes, ships, naval artillery, planes of both tactical and strategic aircraft. A lot of artillery, MLRS. And a huge number of missiles were fired at us during this whole period."
Kalyna stressed that Russia had used their elite units to storm Mariupol.
"These were the 150th Division, the 68th Panzer Regiment, the 83rd Airborne Brigade, the 346th GRU Brigade, special forces, the 22nd Brigade of GRU Special Forces, the 9th Regiment of 'DPR' Marines, the Black Sea Fleet 810th Brigade, the 155th Pacific Brigade. These were also strategic aviation and tactical aviation, PMCs and military from other parts of Russia and Caucasus," said Svyatoslav Palamar.
Azovstal's defense continues and they are not going to give up: "We will continue to resist as long as we can."
