Major military exercises begin in France

The Orion 23 exercises will simulate full-scale warfare at sea, on land and in the air, the message said. New military aspects, such as cyber attacks and information operations, will also be included.
The drills will last for more than two months and will apply to all units of the French army. They will simulate high-intensity combat. Griffon armored vehicles, Leclerc tanks, air defense systems, fighter jets, and the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier will be involved in the exercises.
Operation Orion 23 begins in the south of France and on the island of Corsica. It will continue on the Atlantic coast of the country. According to the French Ministry of Defense statement, the goal of the drills is to demonstrate France's ability to "enter the theater of war and lead a multinational coalition."
