Lukashenko will very quickly lose Presidential status if he declares war on Ukraine - Pavlo Klimkin
Ukraine's Foreign Minister 2014-2019 Pavlo Klimkin believes that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will be ousted fast if he declares war against Ukraine, because the Belarusians do not want to fight on the Russian side.
The diplomat expressed this opinion in the program Verdict with Sergei Rudenko on the Espreso TV channel.
"If Lukashenko takes any action against Ukraine, he will resign very quickly. Lukashenko will keep his nose to the wind. Belarusians have a different mentality than Russians, they do not support the war against Ukraine," Klimkin said.
The diplomat added that Belarus is a classic colony of the Russian Federation, in which Alexander Lukashenko does not decide anything.
"I do not believe in any movement on the part of Belarus as an independent state. Russian President Putin once said that there are sovereign states and there are colonies. Belarus is a classic colony. Lukashenko is trying to tell us that he communicates with Putin every day. He can continue telling this. I reckon everything will not end well for Oleksandr Lukashenko," Pavlo Klimkin said.
