Liz Truss announces "record British support" for Ukraine in 2022
Among other things, the support of Ukraine in the war with Russia will involve the transfer of additional British missile launchers.
The website of the government of Great Britain reports.
"Great Britain is already the second largest military donor to Ukraine, allocating £2.3 billion in 2022. Since 2015, we have trained 27,000 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and we have provided hundreds of missiles, five air defense systems, 120 armored vehicles and more than 200,000 units of non-lethal military equipment in the last year," Liz Truss said in New York at a meeting of the UN General Assembly.
The leader of Great Britain emphasized that last week there was the largest commercial transportation of ammunition since the Second World War, tens of thousands of artillery ammunition provided by her country went to the front line in Ukraine.
"The specific nature of UK military support in 2023 will be determined based on the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, we expect to include equipment such as multiple-launch missile systems already provided to Ukraine by the UK and others, which have allowed Ukraine to regain more than 3,000 square kilometers of territory in recent days," Liz Truss said.
The British Prime Minister emphasized: "Ukraine's victories in recent weeks are inspiring. These brave people have challenged the doubters and shown what they are capable of. They need military, economic and political support. My message to the people of Ukraine is: The UK will continue to be behind you every step of the way. Your safety is our safety."
