Joint Forces Commander Nayev comments on opportunities for Belarus to launch offensive
Management bodies and the railway transportation system are being trained in Belarus. There is a possibility of a second attack on Kyiv, but Belarus needs time to prepare for it.
This was announced by Lieutenant General, Commander with the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Joint Forces Serhii Naev in an interview for the Rada TV channel.
"Announced, but still unfinished exercises are ongoing (in Belarus, - Ed.). They are training their management bodies and the railway transportation system. The number of troops along the state border of Ukraine and Belarus has not increased," he said.
It is known that Belarus has deployed up to seven battalion-tactical groups near the borders with Ukraine. At the same time, it constantly conducts training and prepares infrastructure for Russian forces. For tributes to Ukrainian intelligence, Putin plans to deploy 20,000 conscripts in Belarus.
In response to the question whether Belarus would dare to go to Ukraine, Nayev replied that such a possibility exists if Lukashenko's regime in Belarus is "pressed."
"Belarus will do it when it receives the appropriate command from the Russian Federation. When they press the regime of the Republic of Belarus, they will not be as capable. General Zaluzhnyi is in full control of this situation, and if there are changes in the enemy, we will change the composition of our forces accordingly," he emphasized.
According to Nayev, Belarus still needs to form the appropriate forces for a repeated attack on Kyiv. It will take time, in particular about 2-3 months.
At the same time, he added that there is no need for additional mobilization in Ukraine now, as the defense forces are sufficient, and Kyiv is already better protected.
