Far-right French politician Florian Philippot cooperates with pro-Russian journalist Régis Le Sommier, suggesting that the West is fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian, which serves as a useful tool for Russian propaganda in France

Conspiracy theorist and French far-right politician Florian Philippot has partnered with Régis Le Sommier. He is a pro-Russian journalist and former Russia Today reporter who now serves as the editor-in-chief of the pro-Kremlin French outlet Omerta. Their recent discussion centered around Le Sommier's book, Until the Last Ukrainian, which utilizes a well-known Kremlin propaganda punchline that suggests the West is at war with Russia to the last Ukrainian.

The American war against Russia

The book itself, as well as the conversation between Philipot and Le Sommier, benefit Moscow and help divert attention from the fact that Russian troops have invaded Ukraine and are now waging a full-scale war against Ukrainians.

Although the United States and Europe did not force the Kremlin to enter this war, Régis Le Sommier's speech exhibits a persistent anti-American bias. He avoids condemning Russia's actions and hides the full truth about Moscow's invasion of Ukraine from the audience. Despite the Russian aggression, he attributes the conflict to the United States and speaks of an "American war."

The author's position appears to be anti-American and aimed at any country supported by the United States, even if it has been unfairly attacked. Le Sommier's statements such as "The war in Ukraine is being managed from Washington" and "The United States is part of the conflict" show his personal interest in the war, despite the fact that Russia is the aggressor and the United States and Europe support Ukraine's defense.

Yesterday's Russia Today journalist with Moscow's eternal narratives

Considering that Le Sommier was a former employee of the Russian state propaganda outlet RT, it is not surprising that he holds a pro-Moscow position.

Regis Le Sommier also voiced his opposition to the supply of weapons from Europe and the US to Ukraine. This is also not surprising. Often, Russia, through its proxies and agents of influence, actively tries to convince Europe to stop supporting Ukraine. Florian Philippot and Régis Le Sommier have also contributed by referring to Moscow's baseless claims about alleged "Nazis in Ukraine" and promoting myths about Bandera and Shukhevych.

The failure of Le Sommier to condemn the Russian invasion and the atrocities committed against the civilian population of Ukraine, despite the overwhelming evidence presented by the prosecutor's office and international organizations, is alarming. Their praise of the occupiers is unacceptable.

Fortunately, the YouTube channel of radical politician Philippot, which hosted the interview with the pro-Russian journalist, did not receive much publicity, gaining only a limited number of views.
