Czech prime minister believes that EU should strengthen sanctions against Belarus
Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala said that Europe should also pay more attention to Belarus, which supports and helps the Russian Federation
This is reported by Novinky.
During the meeting, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala and representatives of the Ukrainian government discussed the need for further strengthening of sanctions against Russia and Belarus.
"Russia needs to be put in even greater isolation. Russia is not softening its policy; on the contrary, it is becoming tougher. Among other things, the role of Belarus is being considered and whether it is worth paying attention to it. There are certain sanctions against Belarus, but Russia cannot avoid sanctions through Belarus," Petr Fiala said .
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavsky, also added that the world should strengthen sanctions against Belarus as well, because the country is actively helping the Russian Federation in its war against Ukraine.
"It is necessary to remember that the attacks on Ukraine are taking place from Belarusian airspace, Belarus supplies Russia with weapons, their economies are closely linked. We should see it that way," Lipavsky said.
