China won’t prevent Russia from attacking Ukraine again in 2026, seeks to save Putin - military expert
Saving Russian leader Vladimir Putin would mean the preservation of the world order that existed before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Beijing needs this to resolve the Taiwan issue
Valentyn Badrak, Director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament, shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"Beijing is probably interested in saving Putin today - maybe even his regime, but I'm not sure. Saving Putin means actually preserving the world order that existed before Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Beijing needs this to resolve the Taiwan issue. China will not interfere or protest if Russia launches a second attack on Ukraine in 2026. This is the critical year for the formation of 1.5 million Russian troops," he said.
Badrak explained what, in his opinion, threatens Russia.
"Putin himself is a dead-end politician with a 16th-century worldview. His worldview is that of a boyar next to Ivan the Terrible. It is very important for Ukraine to press this whole situation despite the skepticism of certain politicians. We see that only the United Kingdom and Poland retain the desire to destroy the Putin regime. Washington fears it, Paris almost doesn't want it, and Berlin is following the US policy. This issue is now being transferred to the skills and talent of Ukraine's military command. We hope that this is what will change the mentality of the Western world. There is no great determination there, even with the great war. Therefore, Ukraine must and should claim to be one of the creators of a new level of international security system," the expert concluded.
