China rips Russia off, as it once did with Iran - expert on international energy Honchar
International energy expert Mykhailo Honchar believes that Russia's political partners are using the situation to buy energy resources at low prices
He expressed his opinion on Espreso TV.
“The sale of refined oil products is more profitable for the Russian Federation than raw materials. Therefore, I want to note that the sanctions against the Russian Federation have started to work specifically for crude oil. This is very good news. Since I have repeatedly noted that Moscow's political partners, such as China, will engage in extortion,” Honchar explained.
The expert emphasized that the sanctions against Russia are starting to work.
“All political partners of the Russian Federation will begin to demand from them much larger discounts on energy than the Kremlin can afford. Today, the sale of crude oil from the Russian Federation is much cheaper than the quotations on the stock exchanges. This resembles the Iranian version. That is, China is actually ripping Russia off, as it once did with Iran. Therefore, in this context, we can say that sanctions against the Russian Federation are working,” he added.
