China plays main role in Russian-Ukrainian war - US political scientist Ramis Yunus
Washington-based international policy expert Ramis Yunus believes that if China sided with Russia, the situation would be different, but it is drifting in another direction
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV channel.
"Today in Russia everything is bursting at the seams, but they will continue to hold on as long as possible. I know for sure that Putin will go to the end in this matter. Another thing is how others will react to it. Maybe the recent personnel reshuffles were made in order to do something in this way. Perhaps, he will be removed for some time, and someone else will come in his place to create the illusion that Russia is ready to enter into some negotiations," the American political scientist said.
Ramis Yunus stressed that the crisis in Russia is unambiguous, and it can be seen with the naked eye because they have no "feeding."
"China plays the main role here, because if it sided with Russia, then the situation would be different. But China is drifting completely in the other direction, its rigid neutrality is getting closer and closer to the United States, so keep a close eye on the visit of Blinken's (US Secretary of State - ed.) delegation to Beijing in the coming days. By the way, the new Chinese Foreign Minister is a former Chinese ambassador to the United States. So, the tone of the Foreign Ministry has recently changed very sharply towards loyalty and softness towards the West, as well as towards a certain distance from Russia. Based on the understanding of the state of Russia, we have to respond accordingly to all those information issues that we hear," Yunus said.
