China doesn't have much respect for Russia, Biden says
US President Joe Biden considers that China probably does not consider relations with Russia as an alliance and does not have much respect for the Russian Federation
Biden stated this at a briefing.
“I don’t think there’s a lot of respect that China has for Russia or Putin. And in fact, they’ve been sort of keeping the distance a little bit,” he said.
During the briefing, the US president said that he plans to discuss relations between China and Russia with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.
At the same time, Beijing denies the corresponding position. According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian, the relationship between China and Russia is “rock-solid” and their long-term and mutual development is “based on high-level mutual trust and strong dynamics.”
“China is ready to work with Russia to promote sustainable development of relations in the right direction,” the spokesman summed up.
