British intelligence names issues that Putin will refer to in his February 21 address
One of the topics of Russian leader Vladimir Putin's address to the Federal Assembly will be social security for the military fighting against Ukraine
The British Ministry of Defence tweeted this in its recent report.
British intelligence notes that the head of the Russian parliamentary group, Andrey Turchak, said on February 16 that the group had presented a report on the war in Ukraine to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The document is likely to cover issues such as social support for the mobilized and their families. This issue will become more relevant if further mobilization takes place. Putin may refer to these issues in his address to the Federal Assembly on February 21.
"It is becoming increasingly difficult for the Kremlin to insulate the population from the war in Ukraine. A December 2022 Russian poll reported that 52% had either a friend or relative who had served in the so-called Special Military Operation," the British intelligence service summarized.
