Borrell: Unless China helps stop Putin, it will not develop proper relations with EU
The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, says that relations between China and the EU will not be able to develop properly if China does not help stop Putin
He made the statement at a European Parliament hearing on the strategy of relations between the EU and China, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
Relations between the UN and China cannot develop normally if China does not use its influence on Russia to force it to withdraw its troops from Ukraine and end the war, the diplomat said.
Borrell also emphasized that any neutrality that does not distinguish between the aggressor and the victim means taking the side of the aggressor.
He emphasized that a new Cold War between the West and the Far East should not be allowed to take place and stressed the coordination of joint actions.
"In a complex relationship such as the one we have with China, there are inevitably different points of view, as the interests of member states differ, but if we want to build a coherent EU strategy towards China, it is necessary that everyone acts in accordance with the treaties, fulfilling their roles and responsibilities," Borrell added.

Earlier, Josep Borrell said that official Beijing cannot mediate peace in Ukraine as it leans too much toward the invader Russia.
