Belarusians may be tasked with going deeper into Volyn to expand the front - Andrii Diachenko
Andrii Diachenko, head of the special purpose unit Lyubart's HQ believes that, if the Belarusian military does join the war on Russia's side, they would not be given serious tasks, because they would not be physically able to occupy the Volyn region
He shared his views with Espreso.
"If Belarus gets involved in the war, the Belarusian troops will not be given any serious task of occupying the entire Volyn region, because they will not be able to do it physically. And obviously, they will be given the task of going deeper into the territory of Volyn to a depth of 20-30 km in order to stretch the front," Andrii Diachenko suggested.
Andrii Diachenko noted that, as is known, Ukraine is preparing a counter-offensive for August-September and will continue to liberate the South from the occupiers. Therefore the military and political leadership of Russia is trying to involve Belarus in the war.
He added: "Some transport communications, highways and railway junctions pass through the territory of Volyn, so this will be one of the goals of the Belarusians, if after all Lukashenko loses the rest of his common sense and involves his country in this adventure".
